terms
Last updated 4 November 2026.
have this gives you food ideas to choose from and helps you decide what to eat. Its ideas, targets and recipes are not medical or nutrition advice: check with your GP before big changes to how you eat.
Who we are
have this is made by Nerdy Sloth Studios Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17531099), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. Email: havethissupport@
These terms
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using have this, and its licence: they apply instead of Apple’s standard licence for apps. You agree to them when you create your account. Our privacy policy says how we use your data.
Using have this
Age: you must be 18 or over.
Pregnancy: have this isn’t designed for pregnancy or breastfeeding.
What it runs on: an iPhone with iOS 17 or later, with an internet connection. It’s for personal use.
Estimates: nutrition values, including those worked out from photos and by AI, are estimates and may be wrong, especially for restaurant food and home-cooked meals. Calorie and nutrition targets are estimates from the information you give us. A photo or menu can’t show hidden ingredients or cross-contamination, so we can’t promise a food is free of an allergen: always check with the restaurant or the pack. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a history of eating disorders, talk to a professional first.
Made with AI: ideas, recipes, some numbers and the reading of your photos are made with AI from our AI providers. AI can make mistakes, so check anything that matters to you.
Food safety: recipes aim to follow your country’s official food-safety advice. Always follow the cooking instructions on the pack too.
Your subscription
have this is a paid subscription, monthly or yearly. Before you subscribe, the subscription screen shows the price, any free trial and when you’ll first pay. A free trial is only for your first subscription.
It renews automatically for the same length (a month or a year) until you cancel. Apple takes each payment from your Apple Account: when you subscribe, or when a free trial ends, and then at each renewal. The least you’ll pay is one month or one year, unless you cancel during a free trial.
To cancel: in have this, go to Settings > Subscription, or on your iPhone go to Settings > your name > Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before it renews. It then runs to the end of the time you’ve paid for. Deleting the app or your account doesn’t cancel it.
Reminders: we email you 2 days before a free trial ends (and, for a yearly plan, as the trial starts), 30 and 7 days before each yearly renewal, and 7 days before a monthly payment every 6 months.
In the UK, you can cancel within 14 days after you subscribe and get back anything you’ve paid. You can also cancel within 14 days after a free trial turns paid, and after each yearly renewal, and get your money back less a share for the days since that payment. Using have this during those days doesn’t take these rights away. To cancel and get a refund, ask Apple (in have this, Settings > Request a refund, or reportaproblem.apple.com) or tell us at havethissupport@
Fair use and Kitchen magic
Every AI feature shares a daily allowance, Kitchen magic, shown in Settings > Kitchen magic: new photos and Asks, recipes, logging by photo, typing or voice, and vitamins. On a typical day it covers about 13 menu or fridge photos, or 36 recipes. When it’s used up they pause until midnight; barcodes, saved meals and simple foods found in our food tables keep working. After unusually heavy or automated use we may pause or slow AI features for a while, up to a day.
Your content
You own your photos, your logs and what you type or say. You give us permission to use them only to provide have this to you and to improve it, as our privacy policy says, including sending what a request needs to our AI providers. This permission ends when they’re deleted.
Only upload photos and words you have the right to share. Leave other people out of your photos where you can, and give details about someone else (such as a friend’s allergy) only when a request needs them. Don’t upload anything illegal, harmful or offensive.
Using have this fairly
Please don’t use have this for anything illegal or to harm anyone; get round Kitchen magic, the age check or our security (for example with extra accounts or automated tools); sell, rent out or republish have this or its content, or use it for a business; take apart or copy the app’s code, except where the law allows; or interfere with have this, our servers or anyone else’s use of it.
Our licence to you
We give you a personal licence, which you can’t transfer, to use have this on any Apple-branded product you own or control, as the Usage Rules in Apple’s App Store terms allow. have this and its content (other than yours) belong to us or to those who license them to us (see the acknowledgements).
Changes
We may update have this to fix problems, keep it secure, follow the law or improve it. If a change makes it noticeably worse for you, we’ll tell you first, and you can cancel. We may change these terms for a valid reason, such as a change in the law or in have this: we’ll tell you in the app with reasonable notice before a change that affects you, and if you don’t agree, you can stop using have this and cancel before it takes effect.
Ending your account
You can stop using have this at any time and delete your account in Settings > Delete account (cancel any subscription with Apple too). We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. If we close it for any other reason, or stop providing have this, we’ll give you reasonable notice where we can, and you can get back what you paid for any time you won’t get, by asking Apple or telling us.
Our responsibility to you
If have this is faulty or isn’t as described, you have legal rights, for example to have it fixed or to get some or all of your money back. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights as a consumer.
We’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill. We’re not responsible for loss or damage that isn’t foreseeable, or for business losses: have this is for personal use. What you choose to eat is up to you: have this gives ideas, not instructions.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us limit.
Complaints

Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for have this and its content, and Apple has no duty to provide maintenance or support for it. If have this fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the app’s purchase price, if any; as far as the law allows, Apple has no other warranty duty for have this. We, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with any claim about have this, including product liability, failing to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection, privacy or similar laws, and any claim that have this or your use of it infringes someone else’s intellectual property. You confirm that you’re not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or named by it as supporting terrorism, and that you’re not on a US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must also follow the terms of other services you use with have this, such as your mobile network’s. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
